Not diagnostic; make diagnosis with history and physical examination
May show nonspecific osteoarthritic changes
More advanced imaging usually not required
MRI
Shows homogeneous low-intensity lesion on T1-weighted images
Increased signal intensity, sharp borders on T2-weighted images
Other features of cyst—Intracystic septa, satellite cysts, cyst pedicles, DIP joint osteoarthritis, subungual cysts, multiple flattened cysts
