Skull – Zygomatic aRch (SZR)[R,L]
Landmark SZR
Each zygomatic arch is located laterally on the skull and runs horizontally (see Figs 2.1 & 2.2). The angle between both the horizontal branch and the vertical branch of the arch is selected.
Locate the upper edge of the horizontal branch of the zygomatic arch.
Glide forwards (green arrow) until the posterior edge of the vertical branch is reached.
Skull – Zygomatic Angle (SZA)[R,L]
Landmark SZA
The zygomatic bone shows a relatively sharp angle, located below the inferior edge of the orbit (see Figs 2.1 & 2.2).
The point to locate is at the apex of the angle.
