19.1 Self-treatment

19.1.1 Possibilities

Treating oneself offers the beginner a good opportunity to gain experience in reflexotherapy of the feet without feeling self-conscious or under pressure to perform. But patients can also give themselves “first aid” treatment according to instructions, in particular, for acute pain.

Self-treatment can also lead to good therapeutic results because no manual treatment is ever just about suppling external energy, but is also about freeing the obstructed and congested vitality in the patient’s organism and of regulating its flow again.

Areas in which there is often an obstruction of vitality are, for example:

Inflammation and spasms in the digestive tract

Postural defects

Interference fields such as chronically inflamed tonsils, devitalized (= “lifeless”) teeth, scars

Acute or chronic inflammation in the musculoskeletal and organic systems

Congestion in the fluid systems of the kidneys, blood, and lymphatic channels

Suppression of emotions to prevent pending life themes “resurfacing.” A particularly significant amount of vitality is trapped in these areas.
