A 13-year-old boy is brought in for a wellness check. You observe that he has a small mass in his neck which was not present 1 year ago. It is midline, smooth, not painful or tender, and does not interfere with swallowing or with speech. He has no symptoms of any kind. The mass is shown in Figure 12.1.
