Case 2
A 62-year-old male with dense bilateral lower extremity neuropathy secondary to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease presented with ankle and foot deformity after prior pantalar arthrodesis. He presented with a rigid malunion with fixed hindfoot varus and forefoot supination and adduction. Additionally, he had a lateral bony prominence at the base of the fifth metatarsal and nonhealing ulceration. Preoperative radiographs demonstrated a healed malunited pantalar arthrodesis (Figs. 3.3, 3.4, 3.5). He underwent a revision pantalar fusion with corrective multiplanar hindfoot osteotomy performed by excising a laterally based wedge across the subtalar fusion mass and performing an osteotomy through the transverse tarsal fusion mass. Postoperative radiographs are shown (Figs. 3.6, 3.7).
