We have to define our own comfort level and boundaries as far as counseling is concerned. If a person is asking for help with their mental or emotional state I talk to them about the relationship of energy imbalance on the physical and spirit level but state plainly to them that I am not a counselor and they need to consider getting help from a psych professional along with the energetic work that we may do together. This, of course, depends on the degree of distress they are in. Most frequently in my experience if a patient is having great difficulty coping they already have a counselor or psychiatrist.
