Chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare benign bone tumor with a predilection for the metaphysis of long bones and a distinctive histologic appearance. Curettage is adequate for most cases.

History
Adolescents and young adults; 60% younger than 30 years of age
Mild, deep bone pain
Location
Metaphyseal
Eccentric or cortical in long bones
Central when in short tubular or flat bones
Margins
Geographic lysis; typically narrow, occasionally wide, zone of transition
Lobulated margins, expanded and thinned cortex
Matrix
Matrix mineralization is not seen radiographically in the majority of cases
Subtle chondroid mineralization may be visible on CT
